Simple and effective tools for greater back health.

This 6 week, therapeutic yoga program is suitable for anyone wanting to reduce chronic pain in the back, neck & shoulders, gain greater postural awareness and promote long-term back health.

About the Program

Participants will learn simple postures and movements that are useful in reducing discomfort, as well as those that will improve back strength and mobility, promote healthy spinal alignment, and improve posture.

The classes will also include instruction and practice in effective breathing and relaxation techniques to release chronic tension, and mindfulness to increase awareness of postural and lifestyle patterns that may be contributing to pain.

Each class will build on the week before, gradually introducing more strengthening postures as the course progresses, and allowing students to progress at a comfortable pace.

Students will be provided with course notes and practice material each week, to reinforce their understanding and assist in establishing long-term back health.

The yoga that is taught throughout this program is simple and accessible, therefore, suitable for absolute beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners seeking greater awareness of healthy movement and alignment.
Due to the therapeutic nature of this program, numbers are limited to a maximum of five people to ensure individual attention.

Note: These classes may not be suitable for students experiencing acute pain due to injury; in these circumstances, you may find individual therapy sessions more appropriate. If you have any concerns about your attendance, please contact Barbara before registering.
