Yogasutras of Patanjali (Online)

The Yogasutras of Patanjali is the foundation text on yoga practice. Penned thousands of years ago, Patanjali gave us practices to assist us navigate our lives with skill and grace, in a way that is as relevant today as it was in days past.

This weekly online class will allow you to discover the essence of yoga beyond the physical practice. We will explore how the ancient wisdom of yoga psychology can help us to live with calmer minds and greater intention.

Weekly classes running for 10 weeks during each school term.





The Essential Breath – Part 1

Learning to breathe well can help improve our sleep, digestion, immune, and respiratory functions, while also helping to relieve stress and anxiety.

During this 4 week course (1 class per week) we will discuss the fundamentals of breathing well and learn simple practices to help us access comfortable breathing.

This is a face-to-face workshop held at Barbara’s home studio over the course of four weeks. It is a prerequisite for part 2 of this series, where we will look deeper into the practice of pranayama.





The Essential Breath – Prānāyāma

Pranayama is one of the most important practices in yoga. It is extremely beneficial in bringing our minds to a place of calm and balance, and can also have physiological health benefits.

This workshop discusses pranayama, its benefits and its uses. You will be introduced to some useful types of pranayama and come to understand when each may be appropriate and any contraindications there may be.

This is an online workshop conducted via Zoom.


Polyvagal Theory – the Role of the Vagus Nerve in Achieving Nervous System Balance (Online)

This is a live online workshop, held over 2 x 3 hour sessions.

During the workshop we discuss key concepts from Polyvagal Theory as they relate to yoga and the role of the vagus nerve in improving nervous system balance and stress resilience.

This workshop is suitable for anyone wishing to learn some practical techniques that will help in bring calm to body & mind.
