Time for a Pick-Me-Up
It’s that time of year again, when coughs & colds rear their ugly heads. Often making us just a little under the weather, not quite bad enough to head off to our beds but enough to be annoying.
I have always had a tendency to get sniffy at this time of year but I have a few little remedies up my sleeve that help me stay one step ahead of the dreaded lurgy.
This is one of them and my favourite cup of tea for when I’m feeling as if a cold could be on its way. It’s great for soothing the throat and helping with coughs. It’s yummy!
Green Tea with Cinnamon & Lemon
- Organic green tea bag – I use Tulsi but, any green tea is fine
- Cinnamon Stick
- 2 slices of lemon
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger (optional)
- 1/2 tsp raw honey
Steep the tea, cinnamon stick, sliced lemon and ginger (if using) in boiling water for around 10 minutes. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey to taste after the tea has cooled a little.
Go sit on the couch with your book of the day and enjoy!
