Set in the stunningly beautiful environment of the Ikurangi Eco Retreat, Rarotonga, this 7-day yoga retreat invites you to enjoy a peaceful break from routine and allow the practices of yoga to nourish and rejuvenate body and mind.

Enjoy twice daily mindful, inclusive & body-safe yoga classes and still have plenty of ‘me time’ to explore Rarotonga, or relax in Ikurangi’s peaceful tropical gardens or by the pool with a good book.

Accommodation & Retreat Facilities:

All accommodation is twin share in either Luxury Safari Tents or Tropical Are (Polynesian style studios).

All rooms have been strategically placed to ensure maximum privacy and include a private bathroom and large deck facing the the stunning mountains of Takitumu.

Rooms are equipped with a super-king bed, or twin singles , fully screened windows and doors, filtered drinking water and a yoga mat for each guest. Each room has a pedestal fan, bar fridge, free tea and local artisan coffee facilities, hairdryer and safe for your valuables.

Luxury Safari Tents feature an en-suite with modern composting toilet and private open-air hot water shower.

The Yoga

Barbara will lead you through two breath-focused, mindful yoga practices each day, with the option to attend a third pre-bedtime relaxation practice with either Emmilee or Barbara.

The focus of Barbara’s classes is on functional movement combined with breathing and mindfulness to cultivate a healthy body and a calm mind. This is a simple yet profound approach to yoga that meets each student where they are and facilitates well-being on all levels.

Each class will include āsana (postures) and breath work, suitable to beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

2 x daily yoga & meditation classes
7 nights accommodation – twin share

Cancellation Policy
A 100% refund will be given if the retreat is cancelled due to covid-19. We will keep attendees updated with the Cook Islands travel criteria but, you may also check for yourself, at any time here: https://cookislands.travel/entry

If other unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending, provided we have someone on our waiting list who can take your place, you will be given a full refund, less $100 admin fee.

This retreat is limited to 10 participants, it is suggested you book early to ensure your place.

  • NZ$500 non-refundable deposit is required on registration.
  • Full payment required by 1st August 2022
  • Payment can be made by direct payment or credit card, however, credit card payments will incur an additional 3% processing fee.

Barbara Coley is an extremely experienced and skilled yoga teacher, educator and certified yoga therapist with a passion for sharing sound yoga practices that promote wellbeing on all levels.

Barbara’s approach to teaching yoga is to encourage her students to move and breathe in a way that is both functional and easeful, encouraging mind-body integration, and cultivating nervous system balance.

Barbara is a personal student of A G. Mohan and Indra Mohan of Svastha Yoga Ayurveda. She continues to study with them and their son Dr Ganesh Mohan with whom she studied yoga therapy.

Barbara teaches the Yoga for Svastha Teacher Training Program and the Svastha Yoga Therapy Program in Aotearoa.

Barbara believes that yoga should be inclusive and accessible to all and promotes a sense of community in her classes and in her trainings.

In her spare time you will find her adventuring with her Border Collie, Colin –  at the beach or on bush walks, gardening, and spending time with friends & family.

Teaching Assistant, Emmilee Fendall Leech is a Yoga New Zealand level 2 registered teacher with over five years teaching experience in Australia and New Zealand. Her passion is using the tools of yoga to help people move well, breathe well, and live well.

Emmilee took her first yoga teacher training in Thailand in 2016. This set her on the path of continuing yoga education, and she has since completed certificates in health science through the Southern Institute of technology while continuing to add yoga trainings to her CV becoming certified in Yin Yoga and Prenatal yoga. As well taking many Therapeutic Yoga Modules through Svastha Yoga.

Emmilee currently lives in Central Otago where she teaches group classes, small therapeutic courses, and private yoga. When she is not teaching or practising yoga, she can be found outside; trail running, biking, tramping or snowboarding.
