Yoga for Svastha:
These classes are a blend of functional movement, breath awareness and mindfulness. This approach promotes mind-body connection, a healthy body and a calm mind.
Barbara teaches these classes from her home studio and takes only 5 students per class. Small classes allow room for personal attention and adaptability. The tone of the class is always matched to the experience of the group, the overall group energy, time of day and season. Classes may therefore, be either revitalising and strengthening or calming and restful.
Barbara’s classes are available in prepaid five-class blocks. Missed classes are not refundable or transferable into subsequent 5-class blocks.
Tuesdays: 7.00pm – 8.00pm
Cost: $100 for 5 weeks.
Yoga for Healthy Ageing:
Yoga for healthy ageing classes at Svastha Yoga focus on four essential components of healthy ageing: strength, flexibility, agility, and balance. Classes incorporate functional movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness to promote mind-body connection and overall well-being. They may also include the use of props such as light weights, exercise bands, etc., to help develop specific skills that will keep our bodies strong and agile as we age. Key areas of focus are:
- building strength for improving and maintaining muscle mass and bone health
- enhanced mobility for greater flexibility and range of motion
- developing and maintaining balance in a safe and supported manner
- honing agility to effortlessly navigate our surroundings with grace.
